The Arizona Cardinals and Avnet visit Boys and Girls Club for STEM Sports Day

The Arizona Cardinals visited the Bob & Renee Parsons Boys and Girls Club for an EdFest, powered by STEM Sports. Together with Avnet Cares volunteers, Club members participated in and learned how science is involved in sports and daily life at several stations. They interacted with:

  • SCIENCE – PROPERTIES AND BEHAVIOUR OF FOOTBALLS
  • TECHNOLOGY – AVNET FOOTBALL CIRCUIT BOARDS
  • ENGINEERING DESIGN PROCESS – FIELD GOAL POSTS & FOOTBALLS
  • MATH & SCIENCE: HEART RATE AND CALORIE BURNING IN FOOTBALL

With the STEM Sports Football curriculum now at the Parsons Branch, the activities served as an exciting introduction to a program that will continue to spark curiosity, build critical thinking skills, and provide meaningful hands-on STEM learning for months to come. And the program exposes the youngsters to jobs in sports…perhaps there is a future Cardinals employee in that mix!
